By Ken Casellas

Claremont, simply irresistible, stormed to a glorious victory over the much-vaunted East Perth side at Leederville Oval on Saturday to make a magnificent start to the 2016 season, leaving the Royals bedraggled and dispirited.

The rusty-haired Scotch College graduate was laid low last week by a spider bite to his right elbow. His arm became red and swollen and he became feverish.

However, he recovered well enough to travel to Mandurah and helped out as a runner in the reserves practice match.

Thursday, March 17, 2016 - 9:10 AM

Claremont open their home-and-away season against East Perth at Medibank Stadium on Saturday afternoon, and will be looking for some early momentum as the team looks to build on its fifth-place finish from 2015.

Ironically, East Perth were responsible for ending Claremont’s season in last year’s elimination final, however, the Tigers have added some new faces for 2016.

Recruits Jye Bolton and Justin Speed have been in promising form over the pre-season as they look Read More [+]
