Claremont’s finals chances, which appeared over following the round 21 loss to South Fremantle, are still alive after the Tigers defeated Swan Districts by 24 points at Steel Blue Oval on Saturday.

The 13.17 (95) to 11.5 (71) triumph, combined with Perth’s five-point victory against East Perth, means the Tigers are just one win and 3.06% outside the top five with one round remaining in the home-and-away season.

Claremont’s finals chances are all but over after the Tigers suffered a frustrating 32-point loss to South Fremantle at Claremont Oval on Saturday.

Claremont enter the final month of the home-and-away season knowing they must win their remaining four matches, starting with Perth at Lathlain Park on Saturday, if they are to have any chance of making the finals.

A fourth consecutive loss has left Claremont two games outside the top five and needing a miracle to play finals, after the Tigers suffered a heart-breaking four-point defeat to East Perth at Claremont Oval.

Despite a goalless first quarter, marred by poor ball use and several turnovers, the Tigers battled bravely but ended up losing 10.10 (70) to 11.8 (74).
