MATT ANGUS RETURNS TO TIGERLAND

The Claremont Football Club is pleased to announce that Matt Angus has been appointed as the Colts Coach for the 2020 Season.

He will take over the role from outgoing coach Ross McQueen who has stepped away from the position to pursue opportunities within the WA State Academy as an Assistant Coach with both the 16s and 18s Squads and Coach Coordinator to Futures Coaches across the WAFL Futures Competition.

Since 1981, the Claremont Football Club has had 64 players drafted onto an AFL list, making it one of the powerhouse clubs in Western Australia in terms of talent.

Notable recent draftees from Claremont include Jeremy McGovern (2010), Tom Mitchell (2011), Joel Hamling (2011), Jesse Hogan (2012), Tom Barrass (2013), Mitch McGovern (2014), Sam Petrevski-Seton (2016), Jordan Clark (2018) and Jason Carter (2018).

THE West Australian Football Commission congratulates the 11 WA players selected in the 2019 NAB AFLW Draft in Melbourne today, which included seven from WA’s AFLW 18s Academy.

This was in addition to the seven players pre-signed by West Coast and the rookie-listing of Lindal Rohde from Fremantle’s AFLW Academy.
