CFCW Team of the Double Decade

On Thursday 23 July, as part of the Claremont Football Club’s Centenary celebrations, we proudly recognised the outstanding individuals who have shaped the Club’s women’s football journey, unveiling our Team of the Double Decade (2006–2025).

The Team of the Double Decade honours those who have made a significant contribution to the Claremont Football Club Women’s program over the past 20 years, recognising not only exceptional on-field performances but also leadership, service, character and the lasting impact they have had on the Club and women’s football.

A Thorough Selection Process

To ensure this honour appropriately reflected the history and growth of the women’s program, the Claremont Football Club Heritage Committee recommended, and the Board unanimously endorsed, the establishment of the Claremont Football Club Women’s Heritage Sub-committee.

The committee consisted of Chair Jodi Mills, alongside Charmaine Rogers, Amanda Robertson and Rachel Asquith, with Caitlin Boccamazzo serving as Ex-officio Member. The committee was tasked with developing the selection criteria, shortlisting candidates and ultimately voting on the final Team of the Double Decade.

The committee was also supported by Andrew Di Loreto, Jack Schwarze and Emily Johnson, who provided valuable historical insights to help inform the selection process.

The selection framework, endorsed by both the Heritage Committee and the Club Board, included:

• Forming an 18-player team, with 6 players on the bench and a Head Coach.
• Select a Female Football Director (as over majority of the last 20-years Claremont Football Club Women’s was governed by its own committee)
• Select a Rogers Cup Coach (as the development and talent of majority of the selected players was attributed to the dedication and capabilities of coaches in the Rogers Cup program)
• Select a Team Manager (given we all know our game day cannot operate without a game day organiser)

Players and officials were assessed against a range of criteria including:

• How the values of the person aligns with the clubs values, in particular how fair and inclusive they are and how they perform under pressure;
• The leadership qualities of the individual;
• Games played or coached;
• Their service to the club to consider legacy and impact;
• Their service to female football after their time at CFC
• Their overall character

To also reflect the development of women’s football from 2006 to 2025, the committee also considered selections in 5-year time periods to ensure the skill and style of play was acknowledged as at that time they played.

The selection process took almost 12 months to complete and involved thoughtful discussion, healthy debate and extensive research before arriving at a team that truly reflects the very best of Claremont’s women’s football history.

A sincere thank you to everyone who attended Thursday night’s celebration and helped make it such a memorable occasion. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the rich history of the Innaloo Piranhas and the Claremont Football Club, while celebrating the people whose passion and commitment have paved the way for future generations of Tigers.
