Join the Team: Functions & Events Manager

About the role

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Functions & Events Manager will own the planning, coordination and delivery of the Club’s functions and events program along with external bookings. The role is both operational and commercial: delivering exceptional experiences while helping grow venue utilisation, external bookings and event profitability.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver major Club events, functions, awards nights and football program events.
  • Coordinate match-day hospitality across Claremont home games and finals.
  • Manage external function and venue enquiries from first contact through to delivery, invoicing and follow-up.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and identify opportunities to grow repeat business and venue use.
  • Coordinate caterers, security, AV, entertainment, cleaning and other event suppliers.
  • Prepare event plans, runsheets, room layouts, staffing requirements, quotes and budgets.
  • Coordinate venue setup, presentation and pack-down to a consistently high standard.
  • Work closely with Administration, Marketing & Partnerships, Football, hospitality staff and volunteers.
  • Help ensure our venue and events strengthen connection with members, sponsors, past players, metro and regional stakeholder, our community and the wider Claremont family.

About you

  • Highly organised and comfortable managing multiple priorities at once.
  • A strong communicator who enjoys building relationships and working with people.
  • Experienced in planning and delivering functions or events.
  • Confident coordinating suppliers, staff and contractors.
  • Comfortable preparing quotes, budgets, runsheets and event documentation.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused and calm when plans change or pressure builds.
  • Commercially aware, with an interest in growing function revenue and venue utilisation.
  • Detail-focused and committed to providing a welcoming, professional guest experience.
  • Prepared to take ownership, contribute ideas and keep improving how things are done.
