2nd Semi Final Preview Colts | Claremont vs. Swan Districts
Claremont (Colts) face Swan Districts in the 2nd Semi Final at ATOM Stadium (East Fremantle Oval) this Sunday following a 73-point win over East Perth in round 23.
The Tigers finished the season in second position with a 14-6 record, while Swans topped the table after losing just two games all season.
Swans defeated the Tigers at Steel Blue Oval twice this season, however, Claremont emerged victorious in the most recent encounter by 60 points at the Show Grounds.
Claremont enter the clash in incredible form, having won their previous eight matches by an average of 70 points.
Perhaps even more impressive is the fact that the Tigers have only conceded on average 34.75 points per game during this time.
Swans will also enter the clash high on confidence, having won their past five matches, while the team also enjoyed a bye in round 23.
Ironically, Claremont are unbeaten since losing to Swans in round 14, while the Black Ducks’ five-match winning streak follows a round-17 loss to the Tigers.
The Tigers will look to their midfield brigade of Ryan Lim, Alec Waterman and Jared Hardisty to supply first use of the football to forwards Sam Bevan, Alex Manuel and Scott Trickey.
The defence has been well served by the likes of Francis Watson and Nicolas Reid, while the ruck combination of Eddie Simpson and Will McSweeney has also been effective going forward.
The winner of the match will book a place in the 2014 WAFL Grand Final, while the loser will face either South Fremantle or East Perth in the Preliminary Final.
Bounce down is at 9am.
