Wednesday, August 7, 2024 - 12:32 PM

Last week, the Claremont Football Club embarked on an ambitious journey to the West Kimberley region, driven by a shared commitment to advancing football programs and fostering community engagement. Women's Coach Jack Schwarze, CFC players Mia Jackson and Paige Hamilton-Smith, Rachel Southam from Country Football WA, Simone Hough from Kimberley Spirit/Garnduwa Amboorny Wirnan.

Over the course of five days, the group covered nearly 1,400 kilometers across the West Kimberley region, visiting 13 different locations. Their itinerary included Derby, Fitzroy Crossing, Wangkatjungka Community, Bayulu Community, Yiramalay/Wesley Studio School, and Broome. The team's mission was to run football clinics designed to boost the development of junior and women’s football programs, while also promoting active community engagement.

The clinics were met with enthusiasm as local players had the opportunity to refine their skills and learn from experienced coaches and players. The trip not only aimed to improve football techniques but also to inspire a love for the sport and strengthen community ties. With a whirlwind schedule and extensive travel, the Claremont team demonstrated their dedication to making a meaningful impact across these remote communities.

The initiative underscores Claremont Football Club's ongoing commitment to nurturing talent and supporting football development at all levels, extending beyond the boundaries of metropolitan areas and delving into our regional zones. Through these efforts, we continue to build bridges and foster a greater sense of unity and excitement around football in the West Kimberley region.
