VALE JIM CLARKO
Wednesday, April 8, 2020 - 4:49 PM
Jim Clarko, a dedicated Claremont supporter and benefactor, died on Tuesday at the age of 87.
He made a valuable contribution to the club, serving as a vice-patron for 22 years, from 1997 to 2018.
He was much loved by the club as an enthusiastic supporter at home matches and at club functions.
Mr Clarko was a Liberal Party member of the Western Australian Legislative Assembly from 1974 to 1996. He was the Speaker of the assembly from 1993 to 1996 and in the early 1980s was Minister for Education.
He received the Member of the Order of Australia award in June 2006 for service to the WA Parliament and to the community of the City of Stirling.
Our thoughts are with his family.
