Women's Football Report: Tigers v Perth Angels

LEAGUE

The Tigers cruised to a 14.13-97 to 2.3-15 victory over Perth on Sunday. Although the players took some time to adjust to the somewhat wintery conditions, strong second and third quarters were enough to get the win.  

Chloe Colgate, playing in game 100, was outstanding in her performance as well as leading the goal scorers kicking 4.4 whilst Kate Cowen and Kim Powell kicked 2. Asha Price, Carissa Wright, Lindsey Kenyon, Jess Valvasori, Tess Maisey and Adele Arnup all chimed in with a goal each.  

It was also pleasing to watch the number of players continuing to perform well across all areas of the ground including the defensive unit where Jessica Daw and Maddy White impressed. 

The girls face a challenging test this Sunday against East Fremantle prior to the half way mark of the season bye.

RESERVES

The Tigers Reserves played in difficult conditions on Sunday against a Perth side that we knew would push us for four quarters as they did in our round one clash.

The question as to which side would adapt better to the wet and windy conditions was answered by quarter time with the Tigers setting up a handy break. The final result was an 87 point victory with a hard running midfield and disciplined backline keeping the opposition scoreless for the entire game.

The emergence of some on field leaders was also pleasing.

Best players on the day were Rebecca Boladeras, Jasmine Harkin, Angel Hayward and Kate Shallard.
