The Tigers had a comfortable 36 point victory on Sunday in an evenly balanced performance. With the scores close at quarter time, the players continued to work hard as a group resulting in quality forward entries and multiple goal scorers.
The level of pressure and determination applied throughout the game lead by the midfield as well as some key individual performances from Steph Yanev who kicked 5 goals, Adele Arnup who was outstanding in the midfield all game and Phoebe Vlahov who relished in a key defensive role. This allowed the team to come away with a well deserved win.

After a narrow loss to Swan Districts last week the Tigers Reserves side put in a strong team performance beating West Perth on Sunday. With a large number of first year players in the side our focus was always going to be on doing the basics well.
Our best player was Amy Smedding running off half back with Mel Porter and Angel Hayward being equally influential in the midfield. Other important players included experienced duo Kim Saligari and Rebecca Boladeras. A new ruck combination of Layla Boyd and Kate Shallard worked tirelessly all game giving us plenty of first use.
This weeks game is hosted by East Perth at Altone Park. Rogers Cup will be at 10.30am, Reserves at 12.00pm and League starts at 2pm
ROGERS CUP YOUTH: Tigers ruffle Falcons feathers
Claremont 9.12-66 def. West Perth 4.1-25
Goal Kickers: H. Ugle 4, M. Smith-Bin Omar 2, G. Burden, E. Robb, S. Smail
By Emily Johnston, Coach
Coming off a tough loss in round 4 the tiger cubs were looking for a solid four quarter effort against the Falcons. They started well with Sacha Smail working hard through the midfield and Hope Ugle and Sasha Goranova supplying plenty of excitement up forward.
With scores level at quarter time the team was challenged to increase their work rate and apply some serious pressure in the second quarter. This translated well to the team who, lead by half back Amber Ugle-Hayward, tackled fiercely and moved the ball forward effectively to see us kick 4 goals for the quarter.
The hard work of Pia Staltari and Sara Riou around the ground and their willingness to take the game on for its remainder saw the tiger cubs run out the game strongly and record their 3rd win of the season.
This Friday will see a number of our players represent the WA under 18s team in the AFL curtin raiser match before the West Coast v Bulldogs game on Friday night. Congratulations to Amber Ugle-Hayward, Mary Smith-Bin Omar, Martina Karadada and Abby Duncan.
