Round 1 - East Fremantle v Claremont

Wednesday, March 15, 2017 - 9:02 AM by Dan Scamozzi

Claremont’s 2017 McDonald's WAFL Premiership Season begins on Saturday afternoon when the Tigers take on East Fremantle at East Fremantle Oval.

The match will be Darren Harris’ first as Claremont coach, while the Tigers have added some familiar and new faces to their playing stocks.

Jesse Laurie, Nick Winmar and Tom Lee have returned to the club, however, Lee is set to miss the match after suffering a shoulder injury against Subiaco in pre-season.

Anthony Morabito will have to wait to make his Claremont debut as he continues his recovery from surgery last year to his right quadriceps, while dual Subiaco premiership player Charles Le Fanu will miss the match with an ankle injury.

Jared Hardisty (ankle) will also be sidelined after he and Le Fanu were injured while playing for Claremont’s Reserves against South Fremantle last Saturday.

The Claremont Football Club encourages members and fans to attend the match and cheer on the mighty Tigers ahead of a bye in round two.
