Round 13 Colts Report - Claremont v West Perth
Tigers Pounce on Falcons
By Dan Scamozzi
Claremont (Colts) overcame a goalless opening term to run out 31-point winners over West Perth at the Showgrounds last Saturday and record consecutive victories.
Six goals to one after quarter-time saw the Tigers prevail 6.11 (47) to 2.4 (16), notch their eighth win for the season and remain in third position on the ladder.
It was also the fifth time Claremont has restricted its opposition to less than five goals, with the Tigers conceding an average of just 44.8 points per game as the best defensive team in the competition.
Josh Bennett starred for Claremont, while Damon Enosa and George McColgan made their debuts as the Tigers recorded 10 more inside 50s and 11 more scoring shots.
Nick Marinovich, Zac Guadagnin, Joel Horgan and Oscar Allen battled manfully for the Falcons, however, the visitors only had two goal kickers and have now suffered three straight losses.
Claremont will look to make it three straight wins when it faces a winless Subiaco at Medibank Stadium on Saturday.
