Round 8 Preview Claremont V South Fremantle
by Dan Scamozzi
Claremont host South Fremantle at the Show Grounds on Saturday, where football will be the ideal vehicle to reduce the stigma associated with discussions around suicide when One Life Round takes place in a partnership between the West Australian Football Commission and One Life.
One Life Round will promote the message – ‘It’s okay to talk ’.
The Tigers lost a thriller to West Perth by seven points in round seven and will be looking for their first win since round five, while the Bulldogs were handed their first defeat for the season when they were beaten by Subiaco
All four of Claremont’s defeats have been on the back of disappointing final quarters, and the team will be looking to arrest the trend in order to rise from seventh position on the ladder.
Haydn Busher will push his case for selection after being a late withdrawal in the loss to the Falcons due to a knee infection, while Rowen Powell starred for Claremont’s Reserves in his first game since returning from a round-one ankle injury.
The club encourages all members and fans to attend the game and cheer on the mighty Tigers, in what will be the club’s first game at the Show Grounds this season.
Bounce down is 2.15pm, following Reserves at 11.30am and Colts at 9am.
