Round 5 Preview - Claremont vs East Fremantle

Thursday, April 14, 2016 - 3:59 PM

By Dan Scamozzi

Claremont will be seeking a return to the winners’ list when it faces the in-form East Fremantle at ATOM Stadium on Saturday.

The Tigers have suffered consecutive losses since defeating East Perth in round one, and must arrest a concerning trend.

Despite blistering starts in both defeats, the Tigers have lost every term after quarter-time.

The Tigers were left to rue inaccuracy in their six-point loss to Swan Districts in round four, while the Sharks handed West Perth a 50-point thumping.

In encouraging news on the injury front, Francis Watson played the second half for Claremont’s Reserves against Swans as he seeks a return to full fitness, while Tom Shanahan made a successful return from an ankle injury sustained in round one.

Meanwhile, Claremont ruckman Mitchell Andrews is set to line up in his 100th game.

Since joining the club from West Perth prior to the 2011 season, Andrews has been a pivotal player for the Tigers and was a member of Claremont’s premiership wins in 2011 and 2012.

We wish Mitch all the best ahead of his milestone game and congratulate him on the achievement.

A victory for Claremont would see them draw level with the Sharks and Peel Thunder on two wins.

The club encourages all members and fans to attend the game and cheer on the mighty Tigers.

Bounce down is 2.15pm, following Reserves at 11.30am and Colts at 9am.
