A Message from the President – CEO Transition
Author: Admin
I wish to advise our members and stakeholders that Darcy Coffey will conclude his role with the Claremont Football Club at the end of March.
Darcy has served the Club with distinction over the past 15 years, including 8 years as CEO and 7 years as Football Manager. Throughout this time, Darcy has played a significant role in strengthening the Club both on and off the field, and he leaves the Club in great shape for continued growth and success.
Darcy has accepted the opportunity to take up the role of Chief Operating Officer with Football West. This represents the next step in Darcy’s professional career and offers him expanded development and leadership opportunities within sport in Western Australia. The Club congratulates Darcy and wishes him every success in his new role.
Throughout his tenure, Darcy approached his role as the Club’s CEO with positivity, good humour and a genuine enthusiasm for the people and community that make Claremont Football Club special. His leadership style and approachable manner have been greatly valued by staff, sponsors, players and members alike.
To ensure continuity during this transition period, Jeremy Sims will take a temporary leave of Board duties to assume a part time caretaker role as Acting General Manager of Operations while the Board undertakes a formal recruitment process for a new CEO. Jeremy will not be a candidate for the new CEO role and will return to his Board duties once a new CEO is appointed.
The Board remains focused on maintaining the Club’s strong momentum and will keep stakeholders informed as the recruitment process progresses.
In the meantime, we know Darcy will not be a stranger, and fully expect to see him around the Club throughout our Centenary year.
Brian Beresford
President
Claremont Football Club
