Hann is the 2026 Club Legend!

Not many players have graced the football field for Claremont with such an impact as feisty speedy wingman Mark Hann, whose distinguished career is marked with a remarkable series of highlights.
Hann, small of stature but rich in talent, has earned the honour as the club’s 2026 match-day legend.
A product of the City Beach juniors, Hann joined Claremont as a colts player in 1981 and he was a member of the club reserves premiership team in the following year before he made his league debut in the round one fixture against Swan Districts at Bassendean Oval on March 26, 1983.
He was named as a reserve and sat on the bench until he was called upon to replace injured full-back Gerald Betts during the second quarter — and he lined up against star Swans wingman Keith Narkle where he soon chalked up the first of his numerous highlights — scoring a goal with his first kick in league ranks.
That was a memorable start to a splendid 166-match league career which saw him become the first Claremont footballer to play in four league premierships, an honour he now shares with Scott Edwards. For good measure Hann was also a premiership player when the Tigers won the 1982 reserves grand final.
Hann’s league premiership successes were in 1987 against Subiaco, in 1989 against South Fremantle, in 1991 against Subiaco and in 1993 against West Perth. Edwards played in the 1989, 1991 and 1993 premiership sides before he was a member of the 1996 premiership side.
Hann was Claremont’s league captain in 1990 and 1991 and led the West Australian side in a match against South Australia in 1990, the year in which he won the E. B. Cook Medal as Claremont’s fairest and best player in the league side.
Hann served as a Claremont director in the late 1990s, and he is looking forward to resuming as a club director this year. He also served as a director of the WA Football Commission in 2022-23-24.
