Colts Report: Tigers Roar into Grand Final
By Dan Scamozzi
Claremont’s Colts stormed into a fifth consecutive grand final and have set up a showdown with minor premiers East Fremantle, after a final-quarter blitz saw the Tigers defeat East Perth by 12 points in the preliminary final at Leederville Oval on Sunday.
Despite trailing at half and three-quarter-time, albeit by just five points, the Tigers slammed on four goals to one in the final term to prevail 8.9 (57) to 6.9 (45) in splendid and warm conditions.
Fraser House won the players’ player award for his brilliant defensive efforts, while Jacob Orr and Callan England each kicked two goals.
The Tigers will aim to secure their third consecutive premiership and fourth in the last five years when they face the Sharks at Domain Stadium on Sunday.
