Claremont’s Reserves advanced to the preliminary final after defeating Swan Districts by 25 points in the first semifinal at Fremantle Community Bank Oval.

Claremont’s Reserves will be aiming to bounce back from their loss to Subiaco, while the Colts will be aiming to secure their fifth consecutive grand final appearance when the semifinals take place on Sunday.

Claremont’s Colts defeated Swan Districts by 18 points at Steel Blue Oval in the qualifying final on Sunday to set up a clash with minor premiers East Fremantle in the second semifinal.

A disappointing performance from Claremont’s Reserves resulted in a two-point loss to Subiaco in the qualifying final at Fremantle Community Bank Oval on Saturday.

The 13.8 (86) to 13.10 (88) defeat leaves Claremont needing to win the first semifinal against Swan Districts to keep their season alive, and resulted in the Tigers being smashed in clearances, outspread, outworked in midfield and outhunted.

Qualifying Finals Preview

Claremont’s Reserves and Colts will be aiming to continue their winning streaks when they host qualifying finals in the opening weekend of the 2017 AHG WAFL Finals Series.

Both grades finished in second position on the ladder and have secured a double chance for the finals.

League Report: Inaccurate Tigers Pipped By Falcons

A frustrating season for Claremont culminated in a four-point loss to West Perth at Claremont Oval on Saturday, which saw the Tigers finish in seventh position on the ladder with an 8-12 record.

78 more disposals, 67 more marks, 23 more inside 50s and six more scoring shots confirmed that the Tigers dominated most areas of the game, however, inaccuracy in front of goal resulted in a 10.14 (74) to 12.6 (78) loss.

The first term, where Claremont recorded nine scoring shots to three with the breeze at their backs but failed to put the Falcons away, ultimately came back to haunt the Tigers, who, despite leading at every change, couldn’t hold on and missed the opportunity to sneak into the top five.
