Claremont trio Sam Petrevski-Seton, Darcy Cameron and Jake Waterman are set to fulfil their dreams of playing at the highest level after the three Tigers were selected in the NAB AFL Draft.

And Claremont’s Francis Watson will join Waterman at West Coast after the rebounding defender was selected by the Eagles as a category B rookie.

Petrevski-Seton, a highly-skilled and hard-working midfielder from Halls Creek, was selected by Carlton with pick No.6, and has been granted his wish to play in Melbourne.

After making his League debut at just 17 years of age, Petrevski-Seton played three games in 2015, before becoming a dual premiership player with the Colts.

Cameron, 21, has been on the radar of AFL clubs for a number of years, and was rewarded for his perseverance and fine season when the Sydney Swans selected the big man with pick No.48.

Capable of leading the ruck and playing forward, Cameron showed what a damaging player he can be in front of the big sticks by winning Claremont’s goal kicking award with 36 majors.

The imposing Tiger also took 106 marks, with his 43 contested grabs more than any other WAFL player in 2016.

Waterman, a hard-working forward who can take strong marks and kick goals, caught everyone’s attention when he starred for the Tigers with five goals in his League debut in July, and was selected by West Coast as a father-son pick at No.77.

Waterman also displayed his leadership credentials when he captained the WA State 18s at this year’s National Championships.

The Tiger is also a dual premiership player at Colts level, and took home the Mel Whinnen Medal as best on ground following his 20 disposals, eight marks and four goals in the 2016 grand final.

The son of dual West Coast premiership player Chris, Waterman continues the family tradition at the AFL club after older brother Alec was drafted by the Eagles in 2014, but was delisted in September after suffering from glandular fever.

Watson, 21, is a brilliant intercept mark with outstanding composure and played nine League games in 2015 before suffering a broken leg in Round 18.

He returned to play 10 games in 2016 and was also part of Claremont’s premiership win in the Reserves.

Meanwhile, former Claremont player, Timm House, was selected by Geelong with pick No.68 in the NAB AFL Draft after an impressive season in the VFL, including a five-goal haul on debut.

The 21-year-old played eight Colts and 19 Reserves games for the Tigers between 2013 and 2014.

The Claremont Football Club congratulates all five players and looks forward to watching their promising futures unfold.
